AAA Offers Free Battery Testing Throughout June

Phoenix, Ariz. June 10, 2010. Arizona’s summer heat dramatically shortens the lifespan of an auto battery. As a result, AAA experiences a surge in battery-related calls each summer. In fact, last summer, the auto club responded to nearly 40,000 battery-related calls. To help motorists avoid being stranded due to battery failure, AAA is offering members free battery testing throughout June.

“Because of our desert climate, auto batteries typically have a lifespan of no more than 32 months in Arizona,” said John Walter, general manager of automotive products for AAA Arizona.  “To help prevent a failure, batteries should be tested at least twice a year, especially before enduring Arizona’s extreme summer temperatures.”

AAA batteries come with a 72-month warranty and have no mileage limit. This service will be offered to members on the following dates and locations from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  No appointments are necessary.
